Text to Mashed Potato
If I ever had to choose between you
and a third helping of mashed potato,
(whipped lightly with a fork
not whisked,
and a little pool of butter
melting in the middle...)
I think
I'd choose
the mashed potato.
But I'd choose you next.

Text to Children's Letters to God
Dear Mister God, How do you feel about people who don't believe in you? Somebody else wants to know.
Dear God, I have got to know something. What is it like in heaven? I know it's nice, but what kind of nice? What happens when it rains?
Dear God, My name is Robert. I want a baby brother. My mother said to ask my father. My father said to ask you. Do you think you can do it? Well, good luck!
Dear God, What is it like when you die? Nobody will tell me. I just want to know. I don't want to do it.
Last week it rained for three days. We thought it would be like Noah's ark, but it wasn't. I'm glad because you could only take two of things, remember, and we have three cats.
Boudleaux Bryant; text Felice Bryant
Ivo Antognini; text Psalms 128:1
Translation:
Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord;
that walketh in his ways.
Eriks Ešenvalds; text St. Thomas Aquinas
Becca Warthen Johnson and Mary Stewart Porter, sopranos
Translation:
O saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of Heaven to us below;
Our foes press hard on every side;
Thine aid supply; thy strength bestow.
To thy great name be endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, One in Three.
O grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with thee.
Amen.

Text to Animal Crackers
The panther is like a leopard
except it hasn't been peppered.
If you behold a panther crouch
prepare to say, “ouch.”
Better yet, if called by a panther
don't anther.
The cow is of the bovine ilk.
One end is moo, the other milk.
The firefly's flame
is something for which science has no name.
I can think of nothing eerier
than flying around with an unidentified glow on a person's posterior.
