Text to Dadme albricias, hijos d'Eva

Sons of Eve, sing for joy,
For tonight is born our Savior,
The Messiah promised to us
Man and God, a Virgin's boy.

By His birth, He gives us pardon
For the sin and wrong we do.
Born is He, the new Adam.
Almighty God, what glad tidings!

Text to A la nanita nana

Lullaby, my Jesus is sleepy, blessed be He.
Clear running streamlet
And nightingale singing in the jungle:
Keep quiet while I rock the cradle.

Selected text from Ríu, ríu, chíu

Born is the Great Monarch,
Christ the Patriarch clothed in flesh.
I saw a thousand angels flying and singing,
Telling the shepherds of glory in the heavens,
And peace on earth for Jesus is born!

What Child Is This?

English tune, "Greensleeves;" arr. Lindsay Oldroyd Goodson; based on the words of W.C. Dix

Text to This Little Babe

This little Babe so few days old
is come to rifle Satan's fold;
All hell doth at his presence quake,
though he himself for cold do shake;
For in this weak unarmèd wise
the gates of hell he will surprise.

With tears he fights and wins the field,
his naked breast stands for a shield;
His battering shot are babish cries,
his arrows looks of weeping eyes,
His martial ensigns Cold and Need,
and feeble Flesh his warrior's steed.

His camp is pitchèd in a stall,
his bulwark but a broken wall;
The crib his trench, haystalks his stakes;
of shepherds he his muster makes;
And thus, as sure his foe to wound,
the angels' trumps alarum sound.

My soul, with Christ join thou in fight,
stick to the tents that he hath pight.
Within his crib is surest ward,
this little Babe will be thy guard.
If thou wilt foil thy foes with joy,
then flit not from this heavenly Boy.

Joy to the World

Please stand and join us:

Joy to the world, the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King!
Let ev’ry heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And Saints, and Saints and angels sing.

No more will sin and sorrow grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He’ll come and make the blessings flow
Far as the curse was found,
Far as the curse was found,
Far as, far as the curse was found.

Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High,
While Israel spreads abroad
Like stars that glitter in the sky,
And ever worship God,
And ever worship God,
And ever, and ever worship God.

O light of life, O sweet light of grace
Thou bidst us come, we follow apace
See the bright tree, behold the white fruit
Feasting we weep, we witness the root
O light of life, O dear light of love
Come wash us clean, send forth thy white dove.

as pure gold,
and the angels sing softly
to the newborn babe.
